According to widespread reports, Mick Foley has asked TNA Wrestling for his release to leave the company. Foley's contract with TNA is set to expire in September. Foley and TNA have been at odds for months about the creative direction of his character and how the company promotes Foley's outside interests like his books and charity work. On this past Thursday's edition of IMPACT, Foley was abruptly written off TV when his character's "Network" role was 'fired'.

Speculation is always running that Foley could be pursuing another return to WWE where he was a three-time WWE Champion. There has been indication at this time that Foley who was star for WWE during the blockbuster Attitude Era, is being offered a new deal with his former employer. The relationship between WWE boss Vince McMahon and Mick Foley appeared to intact last year during the promotional blitz for Foley's book, "Countdown to Lockdown". WWE plugged the book's release on RAW. This was a very surprising move considering Foley was actively with TNA at the time, and wrote this book specifically about a big match he had for TNA on Pay Per View.
