The world's most iconic beach will host Australasia's premier skateboarding event this weekend and for the first time FUEL TV will deliver the event LIVE to action sports fans across the nation.
Set against the famous backdrop of Bondi Beach, the best skaters in the world will compete on one of the finest bowls in the world at Vans Bowl-A-Rama.
Entering its seventh year, the Bondi event will this year carry a prize purse of $60,000 AUD and has attracted the greatest cross-generational gathering of international skaters for any single event in the history of Australian skateboarding.
The main competition, which takes place on Saturday, is surrounded by a week-long festival of activities, drawing thousands of onlookers to the famous precinct to not only watch the action on the bowl but to take in the various art shows, live music performances and video premieres.
Adam Howarth, Fuel TV Channel Manager, said: “Vans Bowl-A-Rama is one of the truly iconic events in skateboarding and every year it seems to get bigger and better.”
“This is the first time that we have committed to broadcasting the event LIVE and the reaction we’ve received from the skateboarding community and all of our action sports tragics has been overwhelming. This will be an awesome event,” he said.
FUEL TV’s coverage will begin at 5pm AEDT this Saturday, with resident skateboard star and Pop Gun host Corbin Harris commentating on the action LIVE throughout the broadcast.
FUEL TV’S LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of Vans Bowl-A-Rama is available to FOXTEL and AUSTAR subscribers.
